Topic Business Continuity Planning: The Role of a Safety Professional

Business Continuity Planning can help an organization survive a disaster with mitigated impact to employees and assets.   Putting together a BCP may seem like a tall order but your organization may be farther along than you think.  During this session, we’ll explain: What a BCP is (and is not) and the main elements under the BCP that you as a safety professional should be involved with.

Speaker Ben Davis, Loss Control Manager, Nationwide Insurance

Ben Davis is a Manager for Nationwide Insurance Loss Control Services.  Ben’s duties include overseeing implementation of risk management solutions to customers in seven Midwest states.  In this role, he personally works with several key Nationwide members to assist in development of Business Continuity Plan (BCP) development.

Ben holds the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation and is a Certified Continuity Manager (CCM).  Before starting a career within the commercial insurance industry 20 years ago, Ben worked in commercial construction and social services where he gained valuable real-world risk management experience.
