What: This case study highlights a successful industrial hygiene intervention addressing hexavalent chromium overexposure in a manufacturing environment. Over an 18-month period, I partnered with a fertilizer equipment manufacturer to identify sources of exposure, implement engineering and administrative controls, and monitor progress. Through systematic sampling, process modifications, and employee training, we reduced airborne concentrations of hexavalent chromium to levels below the OSHA action threshold, ensuring regulatory compliance and safeguarding worker health.
